why we give

It’s our way of giving back to the loving Father who has given us so much. It’s really an act of worship, because it acknowledges Him as the giver of everything we have, it reflects our trust in Him continuing to provide for us, and it allows us to be part of His work here on earth.

The Bible says to give from the first fruits of our labor, meaning that we give our offerings to God before we spend money on anything else! Setting up a recurring gift online is a great way to make your giving a priority. If you’re not comfortable with online giving we do collect cash and checks as we take an offering during Sunday services, and you can also mail in your contributions.

what we give to

Genesis operations and ministries are funded fully by the giving of our people, so when you contribute finances to Genesis you contribute to every way that people see and find God’s love through this church. People are finding acceptance, healing, and ultimately eternal life!

A portion of the gifts that Genesis Church collects goes directly to our outreach partners. This allows us to support global missionaries, local community centers and other organizations serving people in the name of Jesus. You can learn more about all of our partner ministries here

Sending in a check? Make checks payable to Genesis Church. Drop them in the offering in the services or mail them to Genesis Church, 1702 Pleasant Street, Noblesville, IN 46060.

FAQs

Your generosity fuels the mission of our church, helping people find their way back to God and impacting lives both locally and globally. We want to make giving simple, secure, and transparent. Below are answers to common questions about giving at Genesis Church.

  • Our church is committed to using your generous contributions to further the mission and ministry of Christ in our community and beyond. Each year, we allocate our resources to several key areas:

    • Ministry and Programs: This includes funding for all communications, ministry activities, including worship services, children's and youth programs, and adult groups.

    • Building and Facilities: Rent, maintenance, utilities (electricity, water, heating, etc.), building insurance, and other facility-related expenses.

    • Staff Salaries and Compensation: This covers the wages and benefits for our pastoral staff, administrative support team, and any other staff members who help facilitate church operations.

    • Missions and Outreach: A significant portion of our budget is dedicated to supporting local and global missions, helping those in need, and supporting church planting efforts and humanitarian initiatives.

We carefully review and revise this budget on at least an annual basis to ensure that our resources are being used wisely and effectively in support of our mission and values.

  • We take financial accountability very seriously and want to ensure our congregation knows how their gifts are being used. To promote transparency and stewardship, we implement several practices:

    • Annual Financial Reports: We provide the congregation with a comprehensive report that outlines our income and expenses for the year. We share a summary of this report during a Sunday service, normally in January, and a copy of this report is available to anyone who requests it.

    • Independent Audits & Reviews: Starting in 2025, our financial records will be reviewed annually by an independent, external auditor to ensure that all funds are being managed properly and according to nonprofit standards.

    • Budget Planning and Oversight: Genesis' finance team works closely with our elder team to develop and approve the annual budget. Throughout the year, we monitor expenses closely and make adjustments as needed.

    • Donor Transparency: We also maintain transparency with how specific donations are used, especially for designated or restricted funds, ensuring that every dollar is applied in the way it was intended (e.g., Christmas offering).

  • We believe in the biblical mandate to love our neighbors and to make disciples of all nations. Therefore, a significant portion of our budget is always designated for missions and outreach. The elders have adopted an annual goal of allocating at least 10% of the annual budget to missions and outreach. With the help of the Outreach Team, these funds are shared with:

    • Local Outreach Partners: Funding for food pantries, homeless outreach, community service projects, local schools, and partnerships with local ministries.

    • Missionaries: Contributions to missionaries abroad, church planting efforts, and support for international relief organizations.

    • Church Plants: We also collaborate with other newly planted churches and nonprofit organizations to advance the gospel and meet physical and spiritual needs both near and far.

    • Other Organizations:  From time to time, the Elders and the Outreach Team may designate other organizations for receipt of outreach funds.  For example, each year Genesis Church provides Christmas gifts to staff members at local schools.

Your generosity helps spread the love of Christ both in our community and around the world.
